Candelario Arredondo from Realtios shipped five large bags on consignment to E. Martinez at San Diego. It was enough cotton to keep both steam gins working. Laredo Daily Times , August 29, 1889 August 27 Livestock was plentiful in Duval County August 27, 1880 – Duval County was said to contain 275,257 sheep, 83,816 goats, 7,951 cattle and 16,789 horses and mules. Prominent sheepmen included Manuel Vela (12,000), E.G. Perez (10,000), C. Hoffman (10,000), Rios Cayetano (10,00), and Hubbard & Co. (8,000). Jacinto Guerra was reported to have 100,000 pounds of wool in storage in his store in San Diego.
